Based in Western Sydney area, the site is highly automated, sophisticated and equipped to global best practice. You will assist other sites around Australia with advice on Quality standards and practices. The company has been built on the foundations of culture, workers safety, excellence and process improvements. This ensures that customer’s product expectations are delivered throughout the companies end to end process. Our client is one of Australia's largest food manufacturers who has been operating and trading for over fifty years, to establish itself as one of the group leader's in the food manufacturing industry. 

About the Role:

Responsible for providing planned and daily leadership to the Quality function on site, ensuring safety, quality, culture, capability and the quality aspects of the site.

Reporting directly to the GM of Quality you will focus on leading 7 people onsite. You will be responsible for managing & updating the quality assurance and systems. Also ensure the company’s Quality Audit standards are carried out.

Responsibilities will include: 
  • Lead, mentor and provide ongoing development to the QA team.
  • Direct and train the production staff regarding quality and compliance matters.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are achieved.
  • Development and verification of plant hygiene manual and sanitation standard operating procedures.
  • Establishing and building relationships with suppliers & customers.
  • Assess material risks and apply appropriate Quality Assurance measures.
Essential:
  • Tertiary qualifications in quality, food science or similar.
  • Substantial experience as a Quality Assurance Manager, preferably within a high care food manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent understanding of HACCP systems and ISO standards.
  • Sound knowledge of all food laws and regulations including audit level experience of HACCP and BRC or other Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Experience in managing a Quality team in a FMCG, short or medium shelf-life environment.
