AustCorp Privacy Policy and Collection Statement
The following document sets out AustCorp Executive’s privacy policy and collection statement in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended). 1. AustCorp Executive Pty Ltd (ABN 96 080 436 479 / ACN 080 436 479) of 215-217 Clarence Street, Level 5, Sydney NSW 2000 may collect your personal information from you. We may collect personal information from you in the form of a resume submitted to us by you on our website (www.austcorpexecutive.com.au), from referees you have nominated or from you directly.
2. Collecting personal information from you is essential to our ability to provide appropriate services to you. We collect personal information from you for the following purposes:
- to assess your experience and qualifications and ultimately your suitability to be referred to our clients with a view to interviewing you for a prospective position
- to follow up reference checks and conduct other screening and cross-checking procedures as part of this assessment
- to assess your suitability for engagement by us to perform contract work services for our clients
3. We may disclose personal information to the following types of individuals and organisations:
- appropriate clients who may be interested in interviewing you for a position
- referees or former employers that you have nominated for the purposes of obtaining references
- our consultants who perform recruitment services on our behalf as independent contractors
We may also disclose your personal information if we are required or authorised by law to do so. We will use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that any third parties that we disclose your personal information to are bound by the same privacy rules we follow.
4. If you nominate an individual for us to contact for the purposes of providing a reference, we assume that you consent to us receiving a full and frank reference from that individual. We may disclose the details of your referee's remarks to our clients, irrespective of whether the information the referee provides is favourable to you. Please notify us immediately if you do not consent to this.
5. If you do not provide us with your personal information we may not be able to provide our services to you and assess your suitability for referral to our clients.

You may access the personal information that we hold about you by telephoning 61 2 8252 1111 (ask for the privacy officer), emailing Davidh@austcorpexecutive.com.au , or lodging a written request by mail to PO Box Q969 QVB Post Office Sydney NSW 1230 (marked to the attention of the privacy officer). This is subject to some exceptions allowed by law. We endeavour to handle all requests for access to personal information within 14 days.
7. We rely on the personal information we hold about you to efficiently provide our services to you. For this reason, it is very important that the personal information we collect from you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. During the course of our relationship with you, please advise us of any changes to your personal information. You can contact us at any time to update your personal information or advise us that the information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete.
8. When collecting personal information from you, we may collect 'sensitive information'. Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act as:
- information about your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of professional or trade associations, membership of a trade union, sexual preferences or practices or health information
If you provide us with sensitive information we assume that you consent to us using this information for the purposes outlined in paragraph 2 and disclosing this information to the individuals and organisations outlined in paragraph 3. If you do not consent to us using your sensitive information in this manner, please notify us immediately.
9. From time to time information may be placed on your computer to allow us to identify you. This information is commonly known as a “cookie” and contains information such as your Internet protocol address, your computer’s operating system, browser type and traffic patterns. This information does not include any personal identifying information. Cookies show us how and when visitors use our website. The use of cookies is industry standard and many websites use them. Cookies are stored on your computer and not on this website. If you do not wish to receive cookies or want to be notified of when they are placed, you may wish to set your web browser to do so, though disabling this feature may prevent you from using certain parts of our website.
