Accountant

Job description

The Manufacturing & Engineering business we are partnering with are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team here in Perth.

This role reports into the Finance Manager and plays a key part in overseeing payroll processing, employee onboarding, delivering accurate month-end reporting, performing job cost analysis and allocations, and supporting inventory control and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform detailed job cost reviews and ensure correct cost allocation across projects.
  • Support inventory reporting and reconciliation in coordination with warehouse and operations teams.
  • Conduct financial data analysis to support cost management, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Assist in the implementation of finance system upgrades, automation tools, and reporting enhancements.
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations and journal entries as part of the monthly close process.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion) ideally.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, particularly in payroll, job costing, and month-end reporting.
  • Strong skills in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Solid understanding of ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel proficiency.
