The Role:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for new sales, actively identifying and securing new partnerships and customer opportunities nationally.
- Find ways to create value with a customer-focused approach.
- New Business Development - Prospect new clients
- Cold calling
- Pipeline management
- Meet potential clients
- Growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- Identify client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Plan approaches and pitches, develop proposals
- Participate in pricing the solution/service.
- Handle objections, persuade and negotiate appropriately.
- Present new products and services to existing clients.
- Attend events, analyse market trends, identify new services, products or channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Submit progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met.
The Requirements:
- Experience in a Business Development/Account Manager role in a Facilities Management or Commercial Cleaning organisation
- Background in Facilities Management services such as cleaning, catering, laundry, grounds, etc.
- Preferably a background in estimation or pricing analysis for soft services
- Proven record of contract wins >$100,000
- Knowledge of the market industry and its current events
- Communication and negotiation skills, rapport building
- Participate in meetings, reports, RFPs, EOIs etc.
- Desire to exceed customer's expectations
- Work with all levels of staff e.g. senior leadership, bids team, consultants, government agencies, industry groups etc.
The Work Conditions:
- Permanent full time role
- Auckland office location with office and home based flexible arrangements
- Regular travel nationally to client locations as required to secure business
