Our client is a well-established landscaping contractor with over 50 years of experience delivering large-scale landscape and civil projects across Queensland. They are seeking a hands-on Leading Hand to join the team, working across educational facilities and commercial sites.
The Role You will play a key role on-site, supporting the Site Supervisor and Project Manager while leading a crew and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

The Role You will play a key role on-site, supporting the Site Supervisor and Project Manager while leading a crew and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and working alongside the site team in a hands-on capacity
- Constructing adventure playgrounds, retaining walls, creek beds, and structural landscape elements
- Completing concreting, timber and metal structures, and softscaping works
- Operating machinery including skid steer and excavators
- Reading and interpreting plans, setting out heights and levels
- Assisting with material and labour coordination
- Managing subcontractors on-site
- Maintaining safety, quality, and project timelines
- Proven experience in landscaping, civil, or construction environments
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role
- Ability to read plans and set out works accurately
- Strong hands-on approach and willingness to assist with labouring tasks
- Good communication skills and ability to manage subcontractors
- Valid driver’s licence (manual preferred)
- Skid steer and excavator tickets
- MR licence
- Carpentry and/or chainsaw experience
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour
- Flexible with working hours, including early starts and occasional Saturdays
- Team-focused with a proactive, can-do attitude
- Professional and reliable, with a strong work ethic
- Salary package of $70,000 – $80,000 + superannuation
- Company vehicle for travel between sites during the work week
