AustCorp has been exclusively appointed to secure a strong, skilled and stakeholder-orientated Senior Contracts / Operations Manager to support and lead teams undertaking Planned and Reactive Maintenance, Minor Works and Cleaning across a large site and outlying buildings, based residentially on a beautiful, family suitable Tropical Island.
  
You will ideally hold formal qualifications in Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC Engineering and ideally also be tertiary qualified in Management. Your experience will include 5+ years Contract or Operations Management, managing technical service delivery within a large or diverse multi-site environment.

Base Criteria
Qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or HVAC Engineering along with ideally a tertiary Business Management qualification, along with a strong practical and strategic understanding of Engineering / Building Services Maintenance and past experience managing soft services.
  
Outline Duties
Performing a leadership role, mentoring managers, and leading a team of technical and support staff.
  
Manage the delivery of a range of planned / reactive maintenance and minor works with a strong focus on outcomes and relationships, and long-term strategy around lifecycle delivery.
  
Directly lead, drive, mentor, support and coordinate managers, and indirectly influence supervisors, trades and cleaning staff (including contractors) undertaking work across a large site.

Skills and Attributes 

• Australian Citizen, able to secure National Police Clearance, and looking for a Residential role (Single, Couple or Family status), based on a Tropical Island.
• Facilities Engineering, Building Services, Marine Engineering or Data Centre Engineering Management experience overseeing delivery across a large site / portfolio.
• Effectively give leadership advice, management support and mentor service delivery managers.
• Strong compliance and operational excellence skills.
• 5+ years’ experience in managing a team of technical facilities management staff providing clear direction and timescales to ensure they meet KPI’s.
• An excellent written and verbal communicator, with fluent English language skills, you will provide clear and concise instructions, and undertake internal and external stakeholder interface.
• Engaging personality and well-presented, able to delegate responsibilities to ensure duties are completed.
• A strong manager who can engage fully with frontline staff (direct and contract), undertake walk-rounds, and also provide head-office support and stakeholder engagement.
• Support staff development, diversity programmes and commitment to safe working practices.
• Prior experience working across a large critical environment (data centre / hospital), medical / clinical research facility or University site (with laboratories).
