As a recruiter partnering with this business, we’re excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Structural Steel Detailer with strong Tekla Structures expertise to join their Sunshine Coast–based team.

This is a fantastic chance to step into a role where you’ll work on diverse, technically challenging projects within a collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll be a key contributor, using your expertise to deliver precise drawings and documentation while working closely with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams.
The Role

• Produce detailed fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures
• Interpret architectural and structural documentation with accuracy
• Manage multiple residential and commercial drafting projects end-to-end
• Generate NC data, shop drawings, and fabrication reports
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure compliance with standards
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve queries
• Attend project meetings and site visits as required
• Mentor and support junior drafters when needed

About You

• Demonstrated experience in structural steel detailing (residential and commercial)
• Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD
• Ability to confidently interpret engineering and architectural drawings
• High attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• Current Driver’s Licence and White Card (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable Experience

• Background in steel fabrication across varied project types
• Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications
• Experience within the residential construction sector
