The Company
This is a growing, privately owned EPC business delivering engineered solutions across food processing, materials handling, and industrial manufacturing. With a strong pipeline of projects and repeat clients, they are continuing to invest in their design capability and are looking to bring in an experienced Senior Mechanical Drafter / Designer to support project delivery.
You’ll be joining a tight-knit, technically strong team that works across the full project lifecycle – from concept through to fabrication and installation.

The Role
This is a hands-on senior position where you will take ownership of design and drafting across a range of conveyor systems and food processing equipment.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring designs are not only functional, but structurally sound and fit for purpose in real-world operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and detail conveyor systems and materials handling equipment
• Produce 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings
• Work across food processing equipment and associated machinery
• Ensure structural feasibility of designs, including load considerations, supports, and mounting systems
• Collaborate with engineers to validate designs and resolve technical challenges
• Liaise with engineering, production, and site teams
• Support projects from concept through to fabrication and installation
• Ensure designs are compliant, efficient, and practical to manufacture

About You

• Strong experience as a Mechanical Drafter / Designer within industrial or project environments
• Proven background working with conveyors and/or food processing equipment
• Good understanding of structural principles related to frames, supports, and mechanical assemblies
• Ability to produce designs that are both functional and structurally sound
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, and welded structures
• Able to work autonomously and manage multiple projects
• Practical, solutions-focused mindset
