We are partnering with a public sector organisation seeking a Senior Project Engineer to provide leadership, technical expertise, and project management support across a range of civil infrastructure projects.
The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering capital works projects to meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.

The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering capital works projects to meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements, while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of engineering and capital works projects.
- Manage project scope, budget, risk, quality, and timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
- Provide technical advice on design, construction, and infrastructure standards.
- Oversee contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure effective delivery.
- Prepare reports, business cases, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety (WHS), legislation, and organisational policies.
- Support procurement processes including tendering, contract management, and administration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide engineers and project staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience in delivering civil infrastructure or capital works projects.
- Knowledge of engineering design, construction practices, and contract management.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project risks.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and WHS requirements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, team management, and mentoring capability.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Current driver’s licence
- Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a police check
