Job description
We’re seeking a driven and customer‑focused Account Engineer to join our industry‑leading global packaging solutions provider, with opportunities to be based in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, or New Zealand. This role is all about delivering exceptional on‑site engineering support, driving operational performance, and building long‑term customer relationships that lead to sustainable growth.
You’ll work closely with customer operations teams, providing hands‑on guidance, resolving engineering challenges, and ensuring machines and systems are running at their very best.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver value‑added engineering services that improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate Operational Performance Excellence (OPE) programs covering safety, maintenance, environmental compliance, and machine efficiency.
- Coach and support customer personnel to improve their operational knowledge and basic machine care skills.
- Develop and implement both short‑ and long‑term engineering and performance improvement plans for customer accounts.
- Monitor and maintain the accuracy of customer and machine performance data.
- Identify and address training and coaching needs within customer operations.
- Resolve customer problems and communicate engineering changes to design and project teams.
- Review machine efficiency data and lead corrective action planning for downtime reduction.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across customer sites.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, food safety (HACCP), and environmental requirements.
- Engineering degree and/or trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics.
- Proven ability to manage machine engineering issues in customer environments.
- Strong project management skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills with a hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach.
- Confident communicator who can build trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, multi‑site customer support role.
- Desirable: PLC programming skills and intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
