Job description
As The Asset Engineer – Mechanical you will support the business operations by providing Asset Engineering Services on site at the Power Station. Working in a collaborative team of engineering, technical and management staff, you will be responsible for asset management and technical support across all plant areas including Boiler, Turbine and Balance of Plant.

- Develop and maintain asset management plans in accordance with business processes and strategic objectives.
- Maintain and monitor equipment life cycle costing models.
- Maintain statutory and regulatory compliance for assigned assets.
- Develop and execute asset maintenance or improvement projects to recognised PM standards.
- Develop, implement and review plant optimisation initiatives.
- Develop planned and forced outage work scopes.
- Coordinate assigned contract works during plant outages and project execution works.
- Support and advise Operational Teams to maintain plant reliability and efficiency.
- Use a proactive approach to understand and address plant issues.
- Carry out to root cause analysis investigations.
- Prepare and deliver proposals, reports and recommendations.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of safe operating and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with creation and management of site budgets.
- Ensure that works comply with established site engineering procedures, standards and specifications.
- Use risk profiling to assess, communicate and mitigate the various plant and business risks.
- Ability to develop excellent working relationship with client interfaces and to demonstrate ability to identify ways to develop and add value to the organisation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and an ability to influence others.
- Experienced in use of Permit to Work systems.
- Computer literacy (SAP, Microsoft suite of products, etc.)
- Proactively and constructively identifies and solves problems and potential issues.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work logically, consistently and accurately.
- Act in a manner that is conducive to a professional environment including being cooperative and courteous in all dealings with all staff, clients and subcontractors
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years of practical experience in power generation or heavy process industry environments.
