BMS Project Manager – Sydney

Our client, a leading provider of commercial BMS solutions, is seeking an experienced BMS Project Manager to join their growing Sydney team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex building management system projects across commercial, government, and refurbishment sectors, delivering high-quality outcomes on projects.

What the Role Involves:

You will manage projects from sales handover through to the end of the defects liability period. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading end-to-end project delivery, from scope and design to commissioning and close-out.
  • Managing project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinating internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Planning, tracking, and reporting project progress.
  • Overseeing procurement, including supplier and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Preparing essential project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and construction correspondence.
  • Ensuring commissioning, testing, and final tuning align with project milestones.
  • Maintaining compliance with engineering standards, project management methodologies, and contract requirements.
  • Identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to address technical and commercial challenges.
To be successful, you will have:
  • Proven project management experience within the construction or building services industry (3+ years preferred).
  • A tertiary or trade qualification in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, or related field.
  • Experience in building services and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Formal project management training is advantageous.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget management, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Project.
  • Valid drivers licence and Construction Induction (White Card).
