The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Business Manager  to drive growth, strengthen market presence, and further establish market leadership within the Coatings & Construction. 

This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who thrives on building sustainable value through strategic sales management, business development, and market leadership.

Key Responsibilities Sales Management
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts across the market.
  • Develop existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Achieve sales targets with a strong focus on profitable growth and margin optimisation.
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers and product lines aligned with market demand.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to build strong, long-term relationships at all levels.
  • Monitor payment terms and manage commercial risk across the customer portfolio.
  • Identify new product opportunities through market analysis and customer insight.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations for all new and existing business.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor sales and marketing campaigns.
Business Development
  • Develop market mapping and identify priority growth opportunities across ANZ.
  • Build and execute a growth plan and value proposition for the  business.
  • Support sales and business development initiatives across Australia. 
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and support execution in local markets.
Project Management
  • Translate budget targets into actionable sales pipelines.
  • Identify, support, and capture new business opportunities.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with ongoing projects.
  • Support collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams and regions.
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, commercial, or leadership roles.
  • Experience in the coatings / construction chemicals sector is highly regarded.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and drive to deliver results.
  • Collaborative team player comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
