The Opportunity
A leading Australian industrial electrical and automation engineering provider is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support continued growth across manufacturing and industrial sectors.

This role is ideal for an Electrical Engineer or experienced electrical industry professional who enjoys working directly with customers to develop practical engineering solutions and win project-based work.

You will work closely with internal engineering and project teams to deliver industrial electrical, automation, control systems, switchboard and plant upgrade projects for major manufacturing and industrial clients.

If you enjoy solution selling, technical consulting and building long-term client relationships, this role offers the opportunity to move into a commercially focused engineering position with strong earning potential.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Engage with manufacturing clients to identify electrical and automation project opportunities
  • Develop solution-based proposals 
  • Prepare technical scopes, quotations and project proposals
  • Conduct plant site visits with engineering and maintenance teams
  • Support tender submissions and project costing
  • Build long-term relationships with plant managers, engineering managers and maintenance managers
  • Work closely with internal engineering and project delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to project award
Typical Projects
You will be involved in solution development for projects such as:
  • Industrial electrical infrastructure upgrades
  • Control systems & automation projects (PLC / SCADA)
  • Switchboard & motor control design and upgrades
  • Process automation improvements (P&ID)
  • Electrical engineering solutions and plant upgrades for manufacturing facilities
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation who enjoys working directly with customers.

Ideal backgrounds include:
  • Electrical / Mechatronics Engineer or Industrial Electrician
  • Experience in technical sales, applications engineering, project engineering or engineering consulting
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, control systems or automation
  • Experience with switchboards, PLC/SCADA systems, plant upgrades or electrical infrastructure projects
  • Ability to develop solution-based proposals and engineering scopes
  • Experience selling or delivering project-based engineering solutions is highly regarded
