Electrical/Instrumentation Technician

- Monitor and maintain all site PLC systems including hardware and software
- Assist with the oversight of the site instrumentation, reporting and control systems
- Provide technical support and advice to site personnel
- Assist with site engineering standards and specifications
- Take a proactive approach by being involved, effectively communicate, understand and address plant issues raised by site personnel
- Supervision of contractors on site as required
- Coordinate assigned contract works during plant outages and project execution works
- Ensure plant safety, reliability and integrity by continuous review and update of alarms and plant trip limits
- Assist with tuning and other plant optimisation processes
- Review high voltage switching programs
- Maintain effective business relationships with internal and external customers through effective communication, responsiveness and timely action with commitments
- Identify and implement optimisation of plant controls
- Contribute to site failure and root cause analysis processes
- Monitor site environmental instrumentation and collate and certify data
- Compile reports to gather data as required from control system for monthly / annual reporting
- Monitor and update the plant modification processes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with planned and forced outage work scoping and work execution
- Detailed technical knowledge of power station (or similar complex process) operations and maintenance with minimum 5-years site experience.
- Ability to develop excellent working relationship with client interfaces and to demonstrate ability to identify ways to develop and add value to client organisation
- High level of computer literacy including the use of SAP and Microsoft Office
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation and wiring diagrams
- High level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Western Australian A grade Electrical Licence
- Cert IV in Electrical Instrumentation
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (Optional)
- A Western Australian High Voltage Switching Operations Certificate (Optional)
