About the Company
Our client is a privately-owned, multi-disciplinary industrial services company who have been in industry for almost 40 years.
They specialise in industrial automation and system integration, mechanical & electrical construction and instrumentation with trusted partnerships servicing mining, manufacturing, water, energy and infrastructure, providing full lifecycle management, turnkey projects, process optimasion, maintenance and more. 
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading teams of engineers in the design, development, and implementation of integrated systems for various industries.
You will oversee automation, control systems, process control/optimisation and electrical project execution, ensure quality and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and practices.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Hands-on technical engineering duties for assigned projects taking responsibility for successful delivery. 
  • Manage technical teams to achieve KPIs related to financial performance, team utilisation, and work opportunity delivery.
  • Manage and direct the activities of assigned teams.
  • Conduct audits of key tasks against QA standards and standard operating procedures whilst maintaining technical standards.
  • Ensure profitability of section work and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Assess resource needs, recruit personnel, and conduct formal staff reviews.
  • Oversee estimation process for assigned proposals to ensure adherence to governance processes and profitability.
About You
  • Relevant engineering degree (electrical, instrumentation, automation or similar).
  • Extensive experience in control systems, process optimisation and full lifecycle management of projects in a broad range of industries, preferably in system integration. 
  • High level of technical expertise across a variety of PLC, SCADA and HMI programming and development. 
  • High level of commercial accumen, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • You like to manage people but at your core, you are technical expert who prides yourself in the quality of your work.
