Operating from modern facilities in Brisbane’s south, they deliver cutting-edge prefabricated projects that combine speed, sustainability, and precision engineering. With strong leadership and ambitious growth plans, this business offers a collaborative environment where initiative and continuous improvement are valued.

The business has very exciting growth plans in the upcoming 12 months and beyond and looking to double its current $50m annual turnover to $100m and is looking for a new Estimating Manager to be a part of that strong growth plan. 

This role is critical in ensuring that the company's projects are profitable and delivered on time and within budget, supporting the company's strong reputation for excellence in the construction industry and ideally targeting a candidate who has experience around the $100m per annum mark. 

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the General Manager of the business, you’ll lead the estimating function, ensuring accurate, efficient, and competitive project costings that align with client expectations and company standards. You’ll mentor a dedicated estimator and work closely with design, procurement, and project delivery teams to drive continuous improvement across systems and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all project estimates across residential and commercial modular builds.
  • Maintain up-to-date cost catalogues and benchmark pricing data to support commercial decisions.
  • Develop and improve estimating templates, processes, and reporting tools (including migration from BuildXact to CostX).
  • Collaborate with design and procurement to ensure clarity of scope, inclusions, and exclusions.
  • Present estimates and commercial summaries to senior management, highlighting key risks and margins.
  • Mentor and develop estimating staff to build capability and consistency.
  • Building the team to 4-5 estimators
  • Support continuous improvement, system integration, and quality assurance across the department.
  • Projects varying from residential to large-scale $50m commercial projects
About You:

You’re a commercially astute senior estimator or estimating manager who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys leading through collaboration. You bring both technical capability and people leadership, with a passion for efficiency, detail, and innovation.

Design & Construct, Residential and Commercial background and experience. 
  
Skills and Experience:
  • 5+ years’ experience in an estimating management or senior estimating role (modular, offsite, or general construction).
  • Strong knowledge of CostX, Buildsoft, or similar estimating systems.
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts, tendering, and cost planning.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and improve team performance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or related discipline (desirable).
  • Self-sufficient problem solver
  • Ability to setup new systems
