Job description

The Company:
Operating for 15 years with 60+ staff, this established organisation provides minor works, renovations, fit outs, makegoods and maintenance to commercial, retail, government and industrial properties. Project values are typically between $50k - $2 million.

The Role:
Seeking an Estimator with 1-5 years' experience in the building sector in pricing up trade works. Estimate project costs including material, equipment and labour from site. Visit multiple sites daily and work remotely and from the office.

The Duties:

  • Quote minor and larger building works
  • Create a scope and a breakdown of the costs for each job
  • Assist with tendering
  • Network with clients and maintain relationships
  • Discuss project brief and scope with clients and provide recommendations
  • Produce quotes in a timely manner from site and the office

The Requirements:
  • Qualified in building or trade background preferred e.g. carpentry, construction, quantity surveying etc.
  • Good building knowledge and local industry experience
  • Ideally 3+ years experience quoting residential and/or commercial maintenance, renovation, fit outs and makegoods
  • Must have a current and valid drivers license
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Understand tendering methodology
  • Good problem solving, investigative and conflict resolution skills
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
