This growing Small-to-Medium Enterprise operates as a niche engineering services provider and also provides upskilling of client staff in specialist Engineering markets across the Oil & Gas, Mining, Heavy Industrial, Process Engineering and Renewable Energy sectors.

Base Criteria
20 to 25 years of senior leadership experience within one of the above markets, with a strong technical mindset. You will have established industry contacts, the drive and desire to lead and nurture the growth of an SME across Australia, APAC and the Middle East. Expanding on their current networks and creating a 15-year growth plan.

Outline Duties

Utilise your existing networks to bring in work in the short-term while building and executing a 15-year growth strategy across two divisions.
  
Lead business development with Owner-Operators, EPCMs and primary maintenance contractors.
  
Oversee vendor registrations, major bids and preferred supplier agreements.
  
Manage P&L, forecasting, cashflow and board reporting.
  
Align teams to one commercial plan, while maintaining governance, compliance and brand standards.
  
The ability to travel across Australia, APAC and Middle East as required to deepen existing relationships and grow new business opportunities.

Skills and Attributes 
  • Minimum 20 to 25 years of senior leadership experience in oil and gas, mining or heavy industrial sectors at executive or strategic decision making level.
  • Recognised reputation and network across Australia, Singapore, UAE and APAC with direct relationships inside major operators, EPCMs and tier one contractors.
  • Key to success is a strong cultural fit, someone with a strong corporate background, seeking to join a smaller close-knit family style organisation and develop it internationally.
  • Documented commercial success securing and delivering multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Strategic and operational balance, able to influence C-suite but still connect with technical teams on the ground.
  • Experience leading both engineering service delivery and post trade ongoing development and training operations under a single commercial focus.
  • Results-driven with a clear sense of ownership, focused on revenue, margin and closing long term agreements.
  • Legacy mindset, prepared to commit 10 to 15 years to scale and develop a SME into an International Brand.
