Job description

This is a senior individual-contributor role responsible for setting, embedding, and protecting clinical care and governance standards across a multi-site retirement living and care portfolio.

The position holds enterprise-wide influence without direct line management responsibilities.

You will operate as the organisation’s clinical authority, shaping policy, governance frameworks, service models, and quality systems that support safe, compliant, and person-centred care across independent living, serviced apartments, care hubs, and home-based services.

Role Responsibilities
  • Own and lead the clinical care and governance framework across the business
  • Design, review, and implement clinical and care policies, procedures, and quality systems
  • Provide expert clinical advice to executive leaders, operations, development, and care teams
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant aged care, home care, retirement living, and quality standards
  • Lead clinical risk management, incident oversight, CQI processes, and regulatory readiness
  • Act as subject-matter expert for care models, service integration, and technology platforms
  • Support rollout and scaling of care services across existing and future communities
  • Contribute to research, innovation, and evidence-based practice to lift care outcomes
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders including regulators, providers, and health professionals
  • Undertake travel across metropolitan, regional, and remote locations as required
What This Role Is Not
  • No direct reports
  • No site-level operational or day-to-day care management
  • Not a traditional clinical manager role
This is a strategic, governance-focused position with hands-on influence where required.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration
  • Strong working knowledge of aged care, community care, and retirement living legislation
  • Proven experience in clinical governance, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to operate credibly at executive and board level
  • Experience working across multiple sites and complex service models
  • High capability in policy development, risk management, and continuous improvement
  • Background in aged care, home care, or integrated care services strongly preferred
Package on offer
  • $150,000 up to $165,000 base salary + super
  • Performance based bonus
  • Car allowance
This role suits a senior clinician who prefers depth of influence over headcount, and who is comfortable being the final clinical authority in the room.
