They are seeking a senior leader to elevate the estimating function from operational delivery to a strategic commercial capability.

This is a genuine executive appointment with influence across margin performance and growth strategy.

The Mandate:
  
This is not a traditional estimating management role.
  
You will take full ownership of the estimating strategy across sales estimating, production estimating, cost planning and systems.
  
You will strengthen governance, protect margin in a competitive NSW residential market, improve cost accuracy, and align estimating outcomes with procurement and construction delivery.
  
You will report directly to the GM Operations and operate as a senior commercial advisor to the executive team.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Define and execute the Group estimating strategy aligned to commercial targets
• Establish and enforce margin governance frameworks across sales and production
• Lead and integrate sales estimating, production estimating and cost planning into a unified function
• Standardise estimating methodologies, templates, systems and approval controls
• Strengthen price file integrity and ensure alignment with procurement contracts and supplier agreements
• Review and challenge estimates to protect margin and manage risk exposure
• Analyse estimate vs actual build cost variances and drive corrective action
• Develop reporting dashboards and KPIs to improve transparency and performance
• Build leadership capability and succession depth within the estimating team
• Partner closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Product Development and Construction
• Improve scalability, efficiency and productivity of the estimating function
• Managing 3 estimating managers who each have their own estimating teams across the business

About you:

You are currently operating at a senior level within residential construction, potentially as:

• GM Estimating
• State / National Estimating Manager
• Senior Commercial Manager
• Head of Cost Planning

You bring:

• Deep experience within NSW residential construction
• Strong understanding of volume housing, land packages and production builds
• Demonstrated success in improving margin performance and cost governance
• Experience leading multi-stream estimating teams
• Executive-level stakeholder engagement capability
• Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or Commerce are highly regarded.
