AustCorp Executive is working in partnership with a specialist manufacturer of bulk materials handling equipment that services the mining sector.
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Draftsperson who will be responsible for leading a team of draftspersons to develop models and detail drawings for fabrication purposes.

The Business
AustCorp Executive is working in partnership with a specialist manufacturer of bulk materials handling equipment that services the mining sector.
Our client is looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Draftsperson who will be responsible for leading a team of draftspersons to develop models and detail drawings for fabrication purposes.
The Role
- Assist mechanical engineers and engineering technologists in the modelling and detailing of mechanical equipment.
- Ensures that designs and finished work are within scope of work and allocated time frame.
- Prepares general assembly drawings and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of senior engineers.
- Develop detail drawings from models, drawings & sketches.
- Preliminary engineering design and layout works for conveyors systems.
- Check that the plant is safe to construct, use and maintain, and complies with the relevant standards outlined in the contract.
- Participate in customer design reviews and risk assessments.
- Interact on project standards coordination with clients.
- Complete calculations for structural and mechanical elements of design to the appropriate
- Australian or ISO standards.

- 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within bulk material handling or the heavy industrial/mining sector.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as Drafting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D Inventor software.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in drawing and design.
- Experience in belt conveyor design.
- Full Class C driver's license
