An Australian owned and operated Automation & Engineering firm based in Western Sydney working across a number of major industries. Be part of a small tight knit team managing 4-5 Electricians and running your own projects!

About the Role:


As an Electrical Leading Hand, you will report to the Managing Director and play a crucial role in supporting site production. You will lead a team dedicated to the repair and maintenance of our electrical systems, fault finding using PLC and DCS Systems, ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices, as well as onboard new and international tradespersons.
  • Provide first-line support for critical electrical breakdowns.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling electrical maintenance works.
  • Supervise contractors working on specialized plant and equipment.
  • Conduct test runs on plant and equipment after major repairs.
  • Ensure timely execution of Electrical Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
  • Fault-finding using PLCs, as well as familiarity with DCS and HMI systems.
  • Foster productive relationships with the production team.
  • Lead mini-improvement projects alongside Supervisors and Managers.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment.
  • Participate in shift work as required to oversee maintenance operations.
  • Recommend and develop initiatives to boost productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Trade qualifications in electrical fields, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS 3000-2018 and relevant electrical standards.
  • Proficiency in fault-finding using PLCs, as well as familiarity with DCS and HMI systems.
  • Understanding of common automation communication protocols.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and technical skills.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hourly Rate: $50.00 - $60.00 + Super, + Company Car + OT Penalty Rates & on call allowance
Location: Western Sydney, NSW
