Afternoon Shift Maintenance Fitter – Competitive Salary + Loading + Super - Food Manufacturing
Location: South East Melbourne
A leading food manufacturer based in South East Melbourne is seeking a skilled Afternoon Shift Maintenance Fitter to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a hands-on, site-based role at a well-established and accredited facility, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of production machinery across the site.
About the Role:
As part of the afternoon shift operations, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting faults, and performing preventative maintenance – all while adhering to site safety and compliance standards.

- Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs across a range of equipment
- Troubleshoot faults to minimise downtime and ensure smooth production
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance standards
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams
- Mechanical trade qualification or relevant certification
- Proven experience in mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Understanding of preventative maintenance practices
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Experience in a food or FMCG manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team
