Maintenance Fitters - South-West of Bendigo

We are currently seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters to join a leading food manufacturing site located around 10-15 minutes south-west of Bendigo. These full-time positions offer a 7-days-on, 7-days-off roster, with monthly rotating shifts — two day-shift rotations one month (6 AM-6 PM), followed by two night-shift rotations the next (6 PM-6 AM), and so on. This structure provides excellent work-life balance and strong earning potential.
About the Role
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Maintenance Fitters will be responsible for maintaining production and packaging equipment across several key processing areas. You'll play a vital role in minimising downtime, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on processing and packaging machinery
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across pneumatics, hydraulics, and gearboxes
- Respond to breakdowns promptly and carry out effective repairs
- Conduct equipment setup, calibration, and adjustments for production runs
- Complete fault finding and root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent reoccurrence
- Adhere to safety, hygiene, and compliance standards at all times
- Record maintenance activities in MEX (CMMS) and ensure accurate handovers
- Support and mentor apprentices and collaborate closely with electrical and production teams
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter or similar trade background
- Previous experience in food, FMCG, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and gearbox systems
- Machining or welding skills beneficial (not essential)
- Able to work effectively in a high-paced, continuous production setting
- Heavy Diesel or HD Fitters with strong mechanical backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
