An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in West Melbourne. This is a permanent, full-time role focused on leading the maintenance and reliability function to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
About the Role: As Maintenance Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing preventative maintenance strategies and driving continuous improvement across the site. You’ll lead a high-performing maintenance team while ensuring strict compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement preventative, corrective, and condition-based maintenance systems
- Manage contractor engagement and project delivery
- Ensure compliance with WHS, HACCP, GMP, and other audit standards
- Maintain plant safety and ensure safe work practices are followed
- Coach and lead maintenance staff to meet business targets
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of maintenance activities
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or trade qualification (Mechanical/Electrical)
- 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience, ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of food safety, WHS, and quality systems
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP or D365
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage contractors and lead small to medium projects
