Job description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to support the coordination, scheduling, and optimisation of maintenance activities in Adelaide.
This role is essential to ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and smooth plant operation. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to plan and prioritise work, maintain CMMS accuracy, and drive preventative maintenance discipline across the site.

This role is essential to ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and smooth plant operation. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to plan and prioritise work, maintain CMMS accuracy, and drive preventative maintenance discipline across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, schedule, and optimise preventative and corrective maintenance tasks using the site CMMS.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to minimise production downtime while ensuring equipment availability and safety.
- Work closely with maintenance supervisors and trades to plan workloads, assign tasks, and confirm work completion.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset histories, parts usage, and work order documentation.
- Create maintenance work packs including SOPs, drawings, permits, and safe work instructions as required.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Liaise with Production to plan and schedule maintenance shutdowns and capital works.
- Manage spare parts levels, supplier communication, and service contractor scheduling.
- Experience in maintenance planning within food, FMCG, packaging, meat processing, pharmaceutical, or similar high-compliance manufacturing environments.
- Strong working knowledge of CMMS platforms (e.g. MEX, Pronto, SAP, Infor, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance strategies and reliability-based maintenance methods.
- Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams.
- Trade qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fitting & Machining is highly regarded, but not essential if experience is strong.
- Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene standards, and a safety-first culture.
