Mechanical Fitter, Fabrication
Brisbane, QLD
Full-time | Competitive Hourly Rate + Super + OT
Roster: 1.00pm - 9.30pm Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with strong fabrication skills to join a well-established and innovative manufacturer of building materials, based in Brisbane’s southern suburbs. This role offers stable, long-term employment with the opportunity to be part of a close-knit, safety-driven team supporting production and maintenance operations across the site.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and occasional modification of mechanical equipment, machinery, and fabricated components across the facility. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a proactive mindset and a strong background in fabrication and general mechanical fitting.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
- Carry out fabrication and welding of components for machinery modifications and upgrades
- Assist in machine breakdowns and root cause analysis
- Work closely with production teams to ensure plant reliability
- Maintain accurate records of work completed using CMMS systems
- Uphold a high standard of safety and housekeeping
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and fabricate to spec
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Commitment to safety and teamwork
- EWP license
- Experience working in the building products, cement, or heavy manufacturing industries
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
