Our client is seeking an experienced National Health & Safety Manager located in the Northern Suburbs. The role has arisen due to an internal promotion. This position is not for an average performer - it offers daily variety and challenges and the scope to make a direct and expected contribution to the company’s performance.
 
Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager, this role has the accountabilities to:
  
  • Lead and develop the National Health & Safety strategy for the team and the organisation.
  • Develop and coordinate the WHS system incorporating the safety strategy for the organisation in line with the short and long-term goals.
  • Provide a monthly health and safety report to the Senior management.
  • Maintain safety data and statistics in an orderly and secure fashion.
  • A focus on updating and development of KPI’s across the organisation.
  • Continually working on fit for purpose OHS culture within the organization.
  • Safety is the number one priority in the company, look to increase employee’s safety on site which will reduce injuries through hazard identification and management.
  • Have experience with ensuring OHS training is delivered in a timely manner.

To be successful in this role you will be:
  
  • At least ten years experience within a safety-related role within a manufacturing environment, particularly if it is food or FMCG industry
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to deploy health and safety policies, plans and strategies with a focus on quality and risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of OHS Management Systems, highly desired if you have implemented an OHS system across an FMCG or Food manufacturing organisation.
  • Experience of strong technical and specialist expertise in health and safety management, conveying ideas, risks, options, plans while making informed decisions to senior management and employees.
  • Managed teams with a focus on leading from the front.
  • Self-starter with the ability to be hands-on when prioritises arise.
