A Global leading food company is currently looking for a highly motivated and capable NPD Technologist to join the New Product Development team. The company operates in many locations across Australia. This role will be based in Cowra NSW or Melbourne Vic, you will need to travel for this position if you base yourself in Melbourne. Happy to chat further about this role and expectations. 

The role:
  • Reporting to the NPD Manager, the NPD technologist, is responsible for conducting new product research and for developing new product concepts. 
  • Conduct R&D trials, both internally and with customers, collect and analyse data from the results.
  • Maintain technical expertise in sourcing, purchasing and understanding ingredients.
  • Keep abreast of food market trends, new packaging formats and technologies, as well as equipment to ensure a competitive advantage.
  • Work with the Process Engineers to ensure the feasibility of product launches and ensure benefit to the business.
  • Prepare presentations, sample preparation and new product testing.
The ideal candidate:
  • Qualifications in Food Science or equivalent.
  • You will have experience managing a number of projects in NPD or R&D.
  • You will have strong experience working with retail partners such as Coles, Woolies & Aldi.  
  • Around 5 years previous experience in a similar NPD role.
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
  • Strong interest in food and new product development.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
