You will need to hold Australian Citizenship to enable full access to all sites, along with a Diploma / Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety with at least 3 years’ experience driving Occupational Health & Safety compliance including Risk Assessments, HSEQ audits, Incident Investigations - including reports and implementing recommendations.
With at least 3 years’ experience driving Health & Safety across a large facilities management contract, mine site, construction / civils site, sugar refinery or aggregates processing facility; you will be eager to develop your career with a supportive firm.
Your experience will have been gained in a business whose staff are predominantly frontline / hands-on workers; who are exposed to risks such as Manual Handling, Dust, Confined Space, Working at Heights, Fixed and Mobile Plant, and Heatstroke amongst other hazards.
You will have excellent communication skills, an interactive style of engagement and a supportive approach, able to liaise with all levels of staff (diverse range of ethnicities), as a “hands-on” advisor who can actively walk round sites and lead toolbox talks.
You will need to be physically fit, able to walk round sites with uneven ground, climb ladders, comfortable walking on a roof / height of 5-storeys; through plant rooms and round processing and mobile plant in a hot tropical environment.
In addition, you will be responsible for complying with existing systems and processes, recommending enhancements, training staff in their obligations; completing required paperwork, set-up necessary OHS reports, review data and making OHS recommendations to management.
You will ideally have worked within the Open-cast Mining, Facilities Management, Construction, Civils, Sugar Refinery or Aggregates Processing sectors.
