About the role:
An exceptional opportunity to join the Melbourne team has arisen. As the Operations Manager, you will effectively and efficiently manage all functions of the Trading operations in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Trading your key responsibilities will include:
You must be prepared to work industry hours which includes very early mornings and occasional weekend availability, and the willingness to take calls after hours.

Reporting to the Head of Trading your key responsibilities will include:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Direct leadership experience as you’ll need to lead, coach and develop your team to meet cost control and rostering requirements.
- Experiencing managing different set of workers such as warehouse coordinators, business support and/or section coordinators.
- To maintain excellent department standards including monitoring stock, rotation routines, DIFOT & drive KPI standards and quality control.
- To drive a one team culture which celebrates success and puts your team members health, safety and wellbeing first.
- Ability to look ahead, energise your team and deliver excellent standards.
- Oversee stock control, inventory, pallet movements/documents and cashier.
- Manage and oversee transport and logistics activities within the warehouse.
- Engage with the administrative department and processes to ensure optimal procedures and documentation are carried out.
- Adhere to and maintain budgets and Forecasts of the agreed performance elements.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience within the fresh produce industry.
- Highly desirable exposure to a trading floor, procurement, logistics, and indirectly sales within the produce sector, and have an intimate understanding of the industry.
- Detailed market knowledge and an understanding of constantly changing conditions with regard to supply is essential.
- You will have exceptional communication skills, strong time management skills, and be a natural problem solver.
- Have experience with existing supply/sales relationships.
- You are motivated and have a desire to motivate others.
- Proactive with high levels of organisation and meticulous attention to detail.
