About the Role:
Reporting to the Site Supervisors and Operations Manager, this senior field service position is suited to a highly skilled technician with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role. You will operate independently across a wide range of works, providing technical expertise, mentoring junior technicians, and delivering high-quality outcomes across both site-based and workshop environments.

You will work closely with site contacts, customers, internal field service technicians, sales and administration staff to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Completing all assigned daily tasks to a high standard while working unsupervised
  • Completing projects including onsite poly welding, shutdown works, pump crew tasks and workshop duties
  • Conducting daily safety interactions, risk assessments and job safety analyses
  • Completing all required paperwork accurately including timesheets, DWRs, PPS Eye Checks and purchase orders
  • Mentoring and instructing lower-level technicians
  • Participating in toolbox talks, site prestarts and monthly meetings
  • Operating tools and equipment safely and in accordance with OHS procedures
  • Treating company property with care and reporting damage or maintenance needs
  • Assisting with incident, accident or near-miss investigations when required
  • Liaising daily with site supervisors to ensure work scope and deadlines are met
  • Ensuring tools, equipment and stock are correctly maintained and stored
  • Conducting three peer-on-peer safety interactions per week
  • Working in all weather conditions, at heights, in confined spaces and alongside other contractors
  • Performing poly welding (32mm – 1000mm), electrofusion welding, hot works, pipe fitting and use of petrol-powered tools
  • Preparing and reviewing risk assessments
  • Managing multiple work fronts and maintaining high personal work standards
Minimum tools to be supplied by the employee:
  • Basic hand tools, podger bars (24–27mm, 27–32mm), screwdriver set, shifter
  • Battery rattle gun (½" or ¾", Milwaukee preferred)
Skills and Experience Essential:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Field Service Technician or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and mentor junior staff
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Time management, organisation and the ability to work on multiple job fronts
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and high work standards
  • Current Coal Board Medical (or ability to pass)
  • Current Poly Welding Certificate
  • Current Chainsaw Ticket
  • Pipe fitting experience
  • Excavator Ticket or VOC with minimum 200 hours
  • Unrestricted manual driver’s licence

  • HR Driver’s Licence
  • Dogging/Rigging qualifications
