The Company:
An award-winning and highly established volume home building company, based in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, with a total team count of 55 full-time staff and building approx 120 homes per year with average contract values ranging from $900k-$1.5m are looking to hire an experienced Production Estimator to join their growing estimating based in their stunning and modern South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne office.
Homes built by the business can range from greenfield, KDRB, custom and volume.
Position Purpose:
Working alongside an experienced Estimating Manager, the Production Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely construction estimates and purchase orders for new home builds. This role utilises the company's standard Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and approved costing structures to ensure all documentation aligns with company standards, supplier agreements, and compliance requirements. The Production Estimator plays a key role in maintaining cost accuracy, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring smooth project handover to site.
Hours of Operation:
Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.00pm, full-time working in an entirely office-based role.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
- Prepare accurate costings and purchase orders for all construction stages using the approved standard BOQ.
- Apply correct rates, allowances, and contracted supplier/trade pricing to all estimates.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or inconsistencies across plans and documentation.
- Process variations accurately and issue updated costings in a timely manner.
- Ensure all costings align with internal standards and procurement agreements.
- Review architectural drawings, final plans, engineering, energy reports, and developer requirements.
- Raise F6 alerts in FW when discrepancies, amended engineering needs, or screw pile triggers occur.
- Ensure all estimating work complies with NCC requirements, company standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with drafting, construction, and pre-site teams to ensure documentation alignment.
- Liaise with internal teams including Drafting, Sales, Construction, Procurement, and Pre-Construction.
- Communicate with suppliers and trades as needed for clarification on pricing or scope.
- Provide timely updates regarding costings, documentation issues, or identified conflicts.
- Support the site team by interpreting the standard BOQ when queries arise.
- Support the accuracy of estimating data and pricing within the Framework system.
- Assist in identifying recurring issues, including ETO-related errors, and recommend improvements.
- Support enhancements to estimating templates, workflows, and documentation.
- 3+ years’ experience as a Production Estimator in residential construction.
- Strong understanding of building methodologies, materials, and construction sequencing.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Databuild, Framework, or similar.
- High level of accuracy with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to confidently interpret architectural and engineering plans.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Certificate or Diploma in Building & Construction, Estimating, or similar discipline.
- Experience in volume building or project-home environments.
- Knowledge of supplier and trade pricing structures within the industry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proactive problem-solving and identification of documentation risks.
- Effective time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Collaborative approach and strong teamwork skills.
