The Organisation I am partnering with supplies electro-mechanical support equipment, tools, and infrastructure to the medical industry, with a strong state-wide presence and increasing on a national scale.
We are searching for an experienced Purchasing & Procurement officer who will be controlling the existing supplier engagement and selection of new parts, equipment, and products. You will also be required to identify new opportunities for suppliers and product developments, to strengthen and expand the existing product portfolio.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, your management and correspondence of the supply chain status will play an integral role in the continued growth and success of the company.

You will also be required to identify new opportunities for suppliers and product developments, to strengthen and expand the existing product portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Communicate purchasing status updates with sales team (ETA, freight tracking)
- Negotiate and manage correspondence with key suppliers
- Tendering for new purchase requirements
- Implementing processes to track and account for all loan and hired assets
- Identifying and developing opportunities to improve stock-related processes and performance
- Assuring the quality of purchased products
- Administering warranty claims, credit reconciliation and coordinating product recalls
- Creating and maintaining systems-based item masters
- Managing supplier relationships - international, national and local
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate the following:
- Proven track record in a procurement or purchasing role, managing a high volume of supplier relationships
- Excellent communication skills across verbal, written, and digital platforms
- Passion for products and building portfolios
- Strong background across IT functions, ideally – Ostendo, SAP, or Pronto
- Proven track record streamlining and continuously improving purchasing processes
- Attention to detail to compliment your organisational skills
