Sales Account Manager I Protective & Construction Coatings

Main Purpose / Role Summary
  • Manage and grow a customer portfolio (existing and new) 

  • Act as the technical and commercial interface between raw‑material principals/suppliers and customers.

  • Provide advisory and formulation support, helping customers choose appropriate raw‑materials based on their requirements.

  • Achieve sales targets, revenue growth, and margin objectives while maintaining high customer satisfaction and strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with customers (coatings, paint manufacturers, industrial formulators)

  • Understand customer needs - technical, formulation, application -  and recommend suitable raw‑material solutions (resins, additives, pigments, binders, speciality chemicals.

  • Develop new business opportunities: identify potential customers, pursue leads, convert into orders/accounts. 

  • Achieve/ exceed sales, volume and margin targets; meet budget and sales KPI’s. 

  • Collaborate with supplier/principal partners to align business strategy, ensure supply availability, coordinate technical/commercial support and forecast demand. 

  • Provide technical support: help customers with formulation requirements, product selection, troubleshooting, and possibly coordinate trials or product tests with internal technical/R&D or application teams. 

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, raw‑material innovations, regulatory changes, and feed that intelligence back to management to inform strategy.

  • Prepare sales forecasts, account development plans, and regular sales/market reports for management.
Candidate Profile / Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3–5 years (or more) of experience in technical sales / account management in coatings, paints, chemicals or related raw‑materials business trong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills; ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts/projects, and travel/visit clients as needed
