The Company:

Our client is an award-winning and highly established home-building company in Melbourne's South East and due to continued growth into 2024 are now looking to hire an experienced Knockdown-Rebuild Senior Sales Estimator to join their busy estimating team in Melbourne's South-Eastern suburbs.

The Role:

The Senior Sales Estimating Technician is responsible for facilitating the progression of leads through to the pre-site phase.

Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, the role is accountable for the assessment, identification and resolution of job particulars, and the resulting creation of sales quotations for presentation back to the client.

The Senior Sales Estimating Technician will also conduct analysis and pinpoint all regulatory and logistical items to ensure workflow expectations and triggers are set correctly once jobs transition to the pre-site function.
The position will be required to drive the Sales input through to effective release into subsequent workflow functions with identified job-specific constraints.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Facilitation of Sales Conversion
Complete technical reviews of sales paperwork and inputs to ensure progression from the Sales phase through to the Pre-site phase.
Carry out analysis and provide recommendation, direction, and resolution in terms of structure, services and logistical constraints related to job particulars and requested customisation.

Identification of Planning and Regulatory impacts
Asses, recognise and communicate relevant regulatory, authority and planning constraints, including but not limited to, those particular to Brownfield and KDR jobs such as planning overlays, traffic management, service issues and those particular to Greenfield sites including developer guidelines, relevant MCP conditions and the like.

Preparation of Estimates & Quotes
Produce sales estimates to reflect the customer’s requirements incorporating compliant siting solutions and resulting site costs, standard options and non-standard variations.

Quality of Output
Ensure that the resulting output and documentation standards are correlative to the company’s detailing, construction and procurement methodology and procedures while maintaining fast and accurate execution.

Staff Training
Participate and contribute to the technical support and training of fellow staff members, including but not limited to, the Sales and Pre-Site teams.

Education, Problem Solving & Interaction
Actively pursue and maintain professional and technical knowledge about regulatory and planning frameworks, supplier products and company processes. Including the ability to act as a conduit between separate building functions such as Sales and Pre-Site.

Previous Experience:

-Demonstrated experience as a Sales Estimator in a similar role.
-Prior experience working with Knockdown-Rebuild projects.
-A grounded understanding of residential construction, building regulation and planning framework is required.
-Prior experience with compliance and conducting desktop assessments
-Experience with Microsoft Excel
