The Company:

Our client is a national residential builder constructing over 2,000 homes each year. Our core capabilities range from traditional detached homes to large scale, townhome and apartment projects. The company are also an established national developer and construction group. Since its inception in 2013, the company has grown to over 400 staff and contractors, across four states, and has solidified its reputation as one of Australia’s leading players in the medium density market.

The Role:

Due to continued growth our client is now looking to hire an experienced townhouse/medium density home building site supervisor to join their busy construction team in the busy northern suburbs of Melbourne.

All the homes are double storey and come with a party wall system. 

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
  • Manage a number of new townhouse builds in construction concurrently.
  • Double storey new builds
  • Allocate materials and trades to job sites.
  • Ensure timely construction of new homes within budget
  • Effectively communicate with clients, trades and management in a professional manner.
  • Have the support of a Site Foreman on site
  • Construction of new homes are carried out safely and comply with company processes and procedures. 
  • Inspecting completed projects to ensure a high standard of quality
  • Maintaining and updating company systems
  • Reporting to management regarding onsite activity
  • Negotiating with subcontractors and coordinating onsite works
  • Identifying and resolving problems throughout the construction process.
Role Requirements:
  • MUST HAVE prior townhouse/medium density construction experience
  • MUST HAVE at least 2-3 years experience as a Construction Site Supervisor within the townhouse building industry.
  • Tertiary qualifications within building and construction
  • Trade background will be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience within the construction sector with excellent building knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. 
  • Proven track record of problem-solving
  • Team player
  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy with construction-specific software packages. 
  • Commitment to WHS principles and practices
