I am partnering with an Australian owned company, who specialises in providing bespoke engineering solutions to the mining and resources sector from conceptualisation through to commissioning and operating. They currently have a strong focus across the following commodities - iron ore, lithium, mineral sands, copper and gold.
As a result of continued growth, we are actively recruiting for another Software Controls Engineer to join the team and become embedded in their tier one mining project portfolio. Please Note: THIS IS A FULL-TIME PERMANENT, PERTH BASED POSITION.
As the Software Controls Engineer your day-to-day duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Working under the guidance of an experienced Lead Engineer, use your skills in software development to create tools and applications that solve challenges in the OT environment.
- Designing, developing, and diagnosing PLC, RTU, HMI, SCADA and network systems.
- Create and update technical documentation, such as Functional Specifications, IO Lists, Manuals etc
- Work independently and as part of a team to design, develop and implement new and existing OT solutions.
- A degree qualified engineer (Software, Controls or Mechatronic Engineering and/or Computer Science)
- Experience in Web development technologies i.e. HTML, JavaScript, CSS. Desirably experience with Inductive Automation Ignition but not essential
- A passion for or background in computer science
- Experience developing in various programming languages – preferably Java, Python, etc.
- Comfortable with a balance of Office and Site Works
- Some PLC/SCADA experience
- 2-5 years industry experience
