Our government client in Perth is seeking a Geographic Information System officer to join their team immediately on a contract basis. The initial contract is for 3 months.
The role is full time, 38 hours a week and the right candidate can earn upwards of $50 plus super per hour.
Suitable candidates must have:
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in GIS or Information Technology or demonstrated capacity to progress towards achieving these qualifications
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Developed planning and organisational skills.
- High level interpersonal skills to allow effective communication to all levels of staff.
- Advanced customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgement to solve problems as they occur.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of spatial systems
- Extensive knowledge of GIS principles and practices
- Extensive knowledge of data sources and acquisition procedures, particularly from State Government agencies.
- Working knowledge of Cadastral mapping.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Relational database management system (RDBMS) and SQL and MS Query
Desirable
- Experience in TRIM and Authority highly advantageous
- Experience working in Local government
